Your Words

This is dedicated to my favorite poet, who never fails to make me feel. It's strange when simple words, a string of letters, really, can evoke an emotion or a thought that you never knew existed. It's not about worshiping a person with a  special skill, because I worship no one but my God. I am just in awe of how his poetry just opens my soul in a way that is raw and real. This is about respect for poetry, as an art that is almost tangible in it's heavy, eloquent beauty. Thank you Anis Mojgani for tearing out parts of yourself to become a part of us.

Your Words

Your words are thick and fibrous
Nutrition to my soul
I like how they fill my hollows
With contemplation and wonder
Your words help me soar
And sometimes make me drown
They always change me
Your words are like a mason's putty
Filling the voids in moth eaten minds
Giving me hope for humanity
Reminding me that we are indeed real
Your words reflect intellect
Like the breath of Plato bouncing off a still lake
You force me to think and to feel
Even when I don’t think that I want to
Your words ignite a fire within me
Burning bright and fierce
Like the internal battles I withhold,
Crumbling bridges of the past, and of hate
Your words
Your words are magic
